Hi, I am Meg. The founder of Maud London.

Growing up in a small town in the Philippines, I was fortunate to be surrounded by empowered women who instilled in me a love for fashion as a form of self-expression. My mother, with her effortless grace, and my grand-aunt, a talented seamstress, deeply influenced my understanding of style and craftsmanship. These early experiences cultivated a deep appreciation for quality fabrics, timeless designs, and the power of clothing to boost confidence.

This influence led me to seek for clothing that suited my style, and would often find myself designing my own dresses. For instance, during my senior year of high school, I designed my gown for my class graduation ball. I also designed a modernised version of my debutante dress to reflect the punk rock music scene at the time.

Moving to London presented new challenges. Balancing the demands of life in a new city with the responsibility of supporting my family back home meant prioritising value and affordability. Yet, I found myself constantly compromising on style or quality. This frustration reached a peak while planning my birthday photoshoot, where I struggled to find pieces that reflected my vision.  I wanted to showcase my Filipino heritage with a contemporary take. However, I struggled to find pieces that were high-quality, stylish and affordable at the same time.

And so similar to my teenage years, I embarked on a journey to design and create clothing that met my own specifications. The overwhelming positive response to my initial creations ignited a spark. I realised that this wasn't just a personal solution, but a potential answer to a shared need. And so, Maud London was born alongside its first collection – The Modern Filipiniana.

From then on, the mission of the brand was clear - Maud London is dedicated to crafting stylish, versatile, and accessible pieces that empower women to feel confident and beautiful every day.

My journey continued as I began planning my own wedding. I sought outfits that were both elegant and versatile, perfect for wedding events and beyond. Once again, I encountered the frustrating reality of limited options that met my standards of style, quality, and affordability.

This experience gave me the inspiration I needed for Maud London's new collection. After months of dedicated design, production, and refinement, I am thrilled to present The Modern Bride by Maud London – a collection of nine unique and timeless pieces inspired by you, the modern woman.
